The Ford Fiesta Championship incorporates three models of Fiesta, two formerly seen in manufacturer championships. The cars run on slick Dunlop control tyres.
Class A consists of the mid-90s Mk3 Fiesta Si's, but with standard 1800cc 130ps Zetec engines out of the Fiesta RS1800 or Escort GTi.
Class B cars use a Mk5 Fiesta Zetec-S bodyshell with a smaller 1400cc blacktop Zetec powerplant.
Class C will be for the brand new Fiesta ST which will run in group N style with the car being a near showroom class.
The Ford Fiesta Championship gives very good value for money, due to the cheap cost of the bodyshells and engines and the fact that performance modifications are not permitted. The average season budget would be somewhere between £4000 and £5000, and a championship-winning car Si or Zetec can be purchased for under £5000.
