Ford Saloon Car Championship

The Ford Saloon Car Championship, sponsored by MillStreetMotors, returns for what promises to be another phenomenally successful year.

Last year saw full capacity grids for almost every race, which in some case meant the grids were split into two races. The appeal perhaps lies in the diversity of the championship, where fearsome turbocharged Cosworths battle against classic rally Escorts of the 70s and 80s, and further down the field, XR2 Fiestas take on a huge variety of other models.

Classes A, B, and C are the modified section with cars ranging from Escort Cosworths, through to Mark 1 and 2 Escort RS 2000s and then blindingly quick Fiestas. Classes D and E mirror the successful classes B and C in terms of types of cars, but differ in that they are for near-showroom specification cars. Class F is for any car running to FIA Appendix K regulations, and Class G is specifically for any car which may be outside the championship regulations but complies with FIA regulations for saloon cars AND is invited to race by the championship organiser.

The control tyre remains as Dunlop, and TV coverage for all the rounds continues on Motors TV, with an estimated audience of 250,000 across Western Europe watching each round.
